Why should I expect to win if I follow NCAA Football Guru?
Fair question. And here’s the simple answer:
I’m Calsport Dan! I’ve had a winning season in 35 of the last 36 years handicapping sports. The one year I didn’t? I still barely lost. This kind of consistency isn’t luck — it comes from discipline, persistence, and a lot of hard work. I’m proud of it, because very few can say the same.
If you follow someone with that kind of track record — and you’re disciplined about locking in plays at the release lines — you give yourself a real chance to win.
Want to maximize your edge? Use sportsbooks that offer reduced juice (like -105 instead of -110). Over the course of a season, that difference alone can have a massive impact on your bottom line. Also, shopping for the best available lines gives you added value that most casual players ignore — and that’s exactly where long-term profit is made.
How sensitive are we to the exact lines? Are your selection point spread specific? For example, would you go over 54 but not 55?
Example #1: I would still play over 55 but I would bet half as much. There will be plenty of opportunities to bet all season long and it is a bad practice to chase lines. However, we recognize that the marketplace is competitive and is also quite illiquid early in the week, so these plays will be moving. I'm sure many will be frustrated either playing bad numbers or not making bets because of line moves. The only "cure" is to be ready to fire when the plays are released, rather than logging in later.
Example #2: When we release a 10-unit pick for UCLA -4, and the best you can find is -4.5 or 5, I would say the play still has value, but I would downgrade it a bit. Treat it like a 5-unit play now. If the best you can find is -6, then you shouldn't play it. We can't give away too much line value.
What is Calsport Dan/NCAA Football Guru's big edge?
I’d love to sit here and tell you I’m the greatest capper alive with unbeatable insights and inside info. But that’s not what sets us apart. The real edge? It’s timing and value.
My team and I have built our success around identifying games with strong value early in the week — before the rest of the market catches up. In college football, the biggest edge often comes from beating the closing number, and the only way to do that consistently is to act fast.
Each week, we create our own projected spreads and totals for every game on the board. Then we compare those projections to the opening lines and fire on the biggest discrepancies — often before most players are even paying attention.
That’s why we release sides on Monday mornings and totals on Tuesday mornings — the moment sportsbooks post them. If you want to stay ahead of the curve, this is when and how you do it.
Where is your documented history?
This business is about trust. I know, “trust me” is not a great sales pitch. Well, I am different from most. I will ask you to trust me because I intentionally have stayed under the radar for decades. Those who know, understand that is the most profitable way to operate. I did not develop a social media presence, do podcasts, or even give interviews. That is why I cannot point to a documented history. I could fabricate one for you, or could pay a disreputable sports monitoring service to fluff my record, but instead I will ask you to believe me when I tell you I have been successful since the late 1980s. Those who know me know this to be true. You can check out what some people are saying in the "Testimonials" Tab.
I have been winning for over 35 years and if you follow me, you too will have a great shot at winning. I cannot promise you success – that will depend on your discipline and whether you are locking in the plays at the best lines when I release them. This is the right recipe. Will you follow it?
